Starting Another Week

Last week was a rough one. I was sick. I hate being sick. Abby had to have an EEG and was very unhappy about all the wires on her head and was home from school for three days. Then the wrap came off on the night she had a seizure and two of the leads broke. I usually sleep with her and watch her like a hawk but I had a fever of 101.7 and was afraid I was getting the flu. When I came downstairs and saw her like this on the sofa and Don told me she had a seizure but two leads were broken I just burst into tears. The odds of her having a seizure and it being captured on the EEG are slim... then to have one but it possibly not be "captured" because the wires were broken was just too much for this sick mama... and I had a melt down.

This is what her head was SUPPOSED to look like! If the seizure happened on the opposite side of where the leads broke... it still may give us information. But if it happened in the area where they were missing... we won't. So it is in God's hands... as it was from the beginning... and we will wait for the report to be read to see. Prayers are appreciated as always my sweet friends.

Then my little guy, who had been VERY VERY VERY whinie for three days, was hit with a fever on Saturday and that night it hit 104 and about freaked me. Even with ALL we have dealt with with Abby, she's never had a high fever. When Marc became a limp biscuit and was on fire, I was scared. A warm/cool bath, grapes and water got it down to 102 something. We had to wait two more hours before we could give fever reducer again... long wait. Yesterday he had a mild one of 101 something and had fever reducer once and today he seems better and has no fever.

Whew.

So here we go... another week has started. I missed my Mom to Mom group SO MUCH last week. I did have my first Bible study on Wed. morning at my home and it was GREAT! God is so good and sweet to share such precious women with me! I am so excited to see what God has in store for us all!

What are you thankful for today dear ones? Make your list!

Here is my daily ten! Be blessed. Hugs and Love...

  1. I can understand why you would be so worried with Marc having a high fever if Abby's never went up that high. It's scary but little ones can spike those and then be fine the next day. Amazing.

    Hi Dawn,

We've been there done that with fevers. I'm sorry you guys have had to deal with all yucks.

I just wanted to let you know that it is OK to alternate ibuprofen (Advil) and Acetaminophen(Tylenol.) So if you give Advil at 3 pm, you can give Tylenol at 5 pm, etc. Then, if needed, Advil again at 9 pm, with Tylenol at 11 pm for as long as needed until the fever is under control.

  3. I seriously think that last week was the week of "when it rains it pours" for so many people I have talked to - myself included. Being sick is hard enough but being sick and making everything else be "all better" too is just too much. I am sorry the Marc had such a high fever - IT IS so scary!

I will pray that this weekend starts us all on a better trend....
